Martin Schulz visits Portugal

Martin Schulz, European Parliament President, announced his visit to #Portugal where he will meet with the Prime Minister, António Costa, and the President of the Assembly, Eduardo Ferro.

Martin Schulz announced the visit in these terms:

"I am now heading to ‪#‎Portugal‬ for an official visit. In ‪#‎Lisbon‬ I will have the pleasure to meet Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, my counterpart Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues, the President of the Assembly of the Republic and Prime Minister António Costa to discuss relations between Portugal and the EU, and the European Parliament in particular. In Portugal, in the eurozone and the whole EU the recovery is gaining strength, but it remains fragile. Portugal, with its strong pro-EU stance, is making an important contribution to the debate on how to deepen and strengthen the recovery ensuring that it reaches those who need it the most. That’s also why I am happy to go and visit project with a strong social and youth dimension. I’ll be hearing and paying tribute to the work Conselho Português para os Refugiados helping refugees find shelter in Portugal. I’ll also visit CAIS and Chapitô two organisations which through their exemplary work, engagement, courage and creativity help the worse off find their place back in society. I am looking forward to this visit!"
