Today is the 70th anniversary of the “Gypsy camp” liquidation at Auschwitz-Birkenau. “Teaching about the past and the tragedy of the Roma under the Nazi regime is one key to a better understanding their present situation,” said Michael Georg Link, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights http://bit.ly/1s9JyL3 “Roma and Sinti have long suffered from racism and discrimination, and understanding this history is necessary to promote a more tolerant, inclusive society for all.”
